Is this normal blossom for Cherokee Purple?

Hi all,

About a month ago, I got a sucker from Craig for CP to root (thanks Craig!). I put it in the ground and then about a week later, it started to flower. I knew that I should have pinched the flower so that the plant has more time to root and grow. But seeing how I can't wait to taste it, I let it go.

So the first blossom got quite large and at first, I thought it was a empty blossom. Then today I went and checked it and found this. Is this normal?

That's what it looks like when it first starts to open. It will get bigger and turn bright yellow.
