Getting ripe in RI

Hi Everyone,

It's a big weekend for me. Lots of ripe tomatoes. Here's some of my standouts...





2 kosovo, 2 Brad's black heart, Berkley tie dye heart, 2 brandy boy, BTK pink, 1 Earl's faux, 1 OR 117 and 3 black cherries

Very nice tomato's. I'm happy for your success though somewhat envious. Oh Well! There is always next year.

They started to roll in this weekend down the coast from you too. Pick some in the morning and by afternoon there is another basket. The two Cuostralee's below were odd. Very ripe on the vine (almost squishy because of the heat) but an orange color. Until they sat overnight. Then they turned red.

Thanks for the comments. The season is so short. Sometimes I think about moving to one of those areas of the country where you can grow a spring and fall crop of tomatoes.

David, very nice variety! Last year coustralee was one of the reddest tomatoes I had.

This must be a weird year for ribbing... My Cuostralee never had ribs, and Bigdaddyj's Marianna's Peace has ribs. Perhaps your Cuostralee is crossed seed.

The unusual PNW weather here in the Puget Sound Area has been bad. looks as if the only nice tomato's I'm going to get is BW and possibly NAR. I have 9 large beautiful Green Tomato's and possibly have a chance to get 7 ripe NARs off a plant that was given to me by a wife's friend and transplanted late. I planted a Delicious in the wifes garden and it has 2 tomato's on it,one large and one small.

Very nice Carolyn! What I would give to taste a few of those right now BTW I also like the dry stone wall - one of the favourite things I like to see when I travel!!!
