Anybody think this NY weather is going to last?
Here on Long Island, the weather has been absolutely beautiful for the last week or so. Temps in the high 60's and also a few 70's thrown in there. Being's that I've lived here all my life, I am all to familiar with weather changes though, but I'm tempted to start hardening off my tomatoes. Soil temp is only around 40-45, so I surely won't be planting any time soon, but....LOL

It was 80 here yesterday in the mountains by the Canadian border, after a whole week of 70's! This is our normal summertime weather. It ends Monday with highs in the low 50's and rain.

I just got my plants potted up and out into the real sunshine to harden off - we'll be there in no time! ~ Tom

I've been debating about putting a few in the ground...with the nice weather we've had for the past few days.
I think I will hold off for a few more days and watch weather forecasts closely.

The weather has been really great! I love it! The leaves are coming on the trees and bushes!
My tomato seedlings moved out to the green house one of the first warm days and they are growing nicely in there and are hardened with nightly lows in the 50's and high 40's. (I have a little heater to prevent the lows from going to far down) Unfortunately the nice weather will end Monday night. Oh well, it is nice as long as it lasts! Hilde |
