We are just now getting to see some ripe tomatoes in my area due to lack of heat this "summer". I found the Green Doctors in the area that has been weeded. They have a wonderful flavor. That's really saying something coming from someone that doesn't really care for a whole lot of tomatoes.

Last year we grew Rosalita and I thought it was good too. We have it out there this year too, I just haven't found it yet.

Thanks! I had a very rainy year here so it may have made them a tad bit bigger. I think my Snow Whites are slightly larger than last time I grew them. Thankfully it was not enough rain to affect the taste.

I tried SunSugar for the first time this year and it was spectacular. The other standout was SunGold Select II; the seed I got from SSE gave me a red cherry with Sungold flavor .... and very prolific. I grew out both IS x Sungold F2 (PV) and CP x Sungold F1 and F2 (Vince) with several excellent tasting lines to be advanced next year. Green Doctors was tasty enough, but late and vine health was so-so. I also found Black Cherry and the two Purple Haze F3 plants I had to be OK, but not great. I had several "zebra cherries" all somewhat to very disappointing.

I can't keep up w/ sungold, they're the one I'm giving away to neighbors. I'm coring and freezing the slicers I don't have time to eat.

A few things I noticed about sungold. No spitting, I like the flavor in a salad. I really like them when yellow, but I haven't been keeping up w/ picking them before they turn orange, or they ripen in the kitchen before I eat them.

The wife really loved them at first, but is also sick of them, we just can't keep up w/ eating them and none of the kids will touch them, not even in a salad. Although the 2 youngest love to help pick them.

I've got a red cherry labeled roller coaster, but it was a mix from wintersown sase containing cherry and currant types. Nothing outstanding to save seed from, I only grew one plant.

I'll be growing one black cherry next year. When I have a bigger yard and more room I'll give sunsugar a shot and probably grow sungold again, just not next year.

I also grew an Early Ssusabakus Aliana from ws sase - it's a little bigger than a cherry, but certainly usable in a salad w/ or w/ out cutting. It's much meatier than a cherry and has held up to coring and freezing and very prolific. Not outstanding taste, wont save seed or grow again, but add's some color to sauce.

One other thing, some people had mentioned drying sungolds and eating them like candy. I tried a tray in my dehydrator and all that was left was a skin w/ some seeds. Tasted bitter, and not enjoyable to me.

A few more cherries have started producing.

Chocolate cherry is sweeter than Black Cherry and I like it better, but CC is producing about 5 fruits to every 50 of BC. My Black Cherry this year has more of a tang than I recall from past years, and I've even had a few that split, here in the land of no rain from May to October.

Cherry Roma is ok (after the first few tasteless ones), a nice mellow flavor.

Fox Cherry is still my favorite.

Green Doctors has a new flush of growth, so I'm looking forward to trying the next batch.
