Kevin's tomato taste test:Italian Giant Paste
Wow!!! All I can say is one slice of this big plum type tomato and you will be hooked!! They are far and away much better than San Marzano or Roma. Nice tomato with a great flavor which is the right balance of acidic and sweet. And the fine flavor lingers for a while.I am confident they would make a fine pasta sauce or salsa and also a good topping for homemade pizza. This is what an Italian tomato should taste like.

Kevin,
What is your seed source for Italian Giant Paste? Years ago, I grew Giant Italian Paste (or Italian Giant Paste) that I bought from Johnny's. I absolutely loved it, but didn't save seed and and they no longer sell it. I've not been able to find another source. (I contacted Johnny's but they were not able to help). Barbara |

Also hoping you can identify your seed source - sounds great.

I make a lot of tomato paste from my italian tomatoes. The seeds came from my italian neighbor who is in his 70's brought them to the U.S. when he was 14 years old and this is the only tomato he grows. It is very good. There is no name, just a very large plum, yum and way better that san marzano or roma. Your tomato variety seems interresting. I am always trying new (paste) varieties. I will look for it and give it a try. thanks for the tip.
