Default black determinates?

I was wondering if there are any black tomatoes that will do especially well in containers. I'm putting together a seed gift for a couple people with a variety of colors and sizes for containers. I've got the reds, pinks, and yellows/oranges covered, and want to add a black/purple. (Or do I have to wait until the dwarf-project tomatoes are available?)

Two black determinates that I can think of offhand, and have grown, are Black Seaman and Southern Nights. Both were sent to SSE many years ago by Marie Danilenko who at that time was their contact person in the former USSR, now the CIS. and seeds for both are quite available.

Southern Nights is much less disease susceptible than Black SeaMan.

I've grown Black Mystery, Rogers Best Black, Amazon Chocolate, Black from Tula, Black Bear and a few more in 5-10gal containers with no problems. Whether they be determinate or indeterminate doesn't make a difference. Sometimes you need to get a little creative with your plant support system but nothing serious. Here's a picture of Black From Tula PL growing in a container. Ami
