Default Saving seeds - cracked fruit ok?

I'm thinking of trying out a little seed saving - I have a black cherry plant I really like. I'm guessing (hoping?) for the fruits this late in the year there wouldn't have been as many bees, so hopefully it will be fairly pure seed. Is that logical?

Can I use the tomatoes that are cracking to save seed? I'm guessing so, as that'd be how the plant would deliver the seed naturally... is that right?

Thanks

"Is that logical?"
I hope so. I've been using the same logic for years and I have had very few instances of plants not being true to type.

"Can I use the tomatoes that are cracking to save seed?"
I do and have no issues.

Good luck.
