Looking for Mountain Series

I'm looking for the complete list of the Mountain series of tomatoes developed by the Univ of NC.

In particular, I'm curious if there's a variety called Mountain Sweet.

Got some at a farm stand today and am trying to verify the name.

Taste was pretty decent...nothing to go all woozy about, but for a 'tomato starved' gal, they went down as smooth as well aged whiskey.

I had a couple of herbed cheese biscuits left over that I split and broiled some slices on, along with more cheese. Made a very tasty supper...

You will find lots of Mountain tomatoes, but not Mtn Sweet.

Now I've got to go back and figure out what variety it really is.

I got great images before I ate them...now, I need an i.d.

The mountain series aren't one of my faves for growing in my garden...seems like I did Mountain Pride some time ago and wasn't impressed, but I'm trying to put together some high quality images of as many varieties as I can. But before labeling a purchased tomato...rather than 'self grown' I try and verify the i.d.

He had Mountain Gold there and they seemed true to type...claimed all he grew were the Mountains...

Anyway, as I told Carolyn on another board earlier...he's supposed to have okra this week, so I'm headed back over there to get some of that..(mine's still young) I'll try and pin him down as to the exact name...and failing that, pin down his seed source. He grows from seed, and has a small transplant business.

I hate having re-named stuff popping up...makes for a bunch of confused consumers...and tomato folk too.

Akkkk....ignore...this post...my mistake...I thought I had it...found Mountain Spring...Not Mountain Sweet

The woman did trot out some Mountain Fresh, and I'm wondering if they have the name wrong...that these are indeed Mountain Spring.

Man wasn't there...need to talk to him..

Well...the mystery is solved....I was out and about this morning and saw the man's truck there...(delivering stuff for the day) So...I pulled in to talk to him.

Seems his wife came home last night talking about the crazy tomato woman who was making a nuisance of herself, and they got out their seed purchase invoices.

It's Mountain SPRING...they had been calling it the wrong name all this time. He was properly embarrased, but said that of course, I was the first one to question the variety.

I explained that I have more than a passing interest in my veggies..(tomatoes especially) and that I verify all cultivars that I can.

So, now I can label my images with the proper name and be satisfied that I'm not adding to the confusion.
