James, the white spots, I don't know what they are but yeah not gray mold. Maybe its the cholorine deposits or burning of the leaves? I don't know... but these leaves used to look quite healthy. I've picked them all off my cukes and the pepper plants are looking very sad indeed. There are hardly any leaves...

Stvrob, I'm using those 1gallon pump sprayers (from Lowes/HD for Roundup etc) and I am not sure its misting fine enough which could be my problem with this bleach spray application. I wonder if I am burning my plants....

So something really seems to have hit my tomatos now and this wasn't around yesternight... Is this just a reaction to the bleach spray or ?

Okay, after thinking about it all day, I'm 99.9% sure I messed up and doubled the strength of the bleach. How stupid of me - my poor babies!! I'm pretty sure I did 5.25oz for HALF GALLON of water. Grrr! Well, I hope my plants pull through and that the mold is killed for once and for all!

Oh no......
Back to that white on the squash, it does look about right for spots where the mold was killed. Maybe a little extra white due to the beach.
I was going to suggest posting the yellowing tomatoes in a new thread as I had no idea what was going on there. But I guess you have your answer....

I had to spray my JDs Special C Tex again today for gray mold. That is the third time and there were only a few small spots of it but I wanted to stop it if I could as soon as possible this time so I don't lose so many leaves. I went ahead and sprayed a few other black tomatoes and my squash and cucumbers.

Part of my problem is I don't know enough about gardening to be able to assess fully everything I'm seeing. The coloring on my squash and bean leaves, I don't know if they are actually related to the bleach spray (or reacting to it... or the strongless of it.) Everyday I get up and I pray that leaves will stop yellowing on me... and everyday I'm picking more off.

Here are some pics of what my squash leaves - does it still look like gray mold is plaguing them?

I feel like I'm spraying every other day and when I stop, there it is again. Everything still more or less good (knock on wood) but the knowledge that its still lurking and the I will probably never rid it all is starting to make me reeeeally sad.

Luigiwu,
Yes it does look like some thing is still going on there. Did you pick up any Greencure? I do think I get better results mixing up my sprays, both to eliminate and to protect. Did you try the milk spray at all?
It could be more than one issue...

Liquid copper might be worth a shot as well.

Hi James,
Thanks for reminding me about the milk spray. This morning, I spot treated some areas with the bleach and an hour later followed it up with the milk spray. I like how it doesn't STINK like Serenade! The milk spray, I don't have to worry about using sparingly, right? I can just douse everything with it? Its something that should not sit, correct, given the milk in it? So I should use it when I mix it and dump the rest?

One of the issues is the bleach spray seems to kill all the ladybugs and bees and stuff. So I'm anxious about spraying the whole garden down with the bleach treatment again. Will Greencure be gentler on them? The copper stuff - is that for the treatment of the mold or for the followup of the treatment? No I haven't tried that either. Will that be nicer to the ladybugs?

I think about my teeny tiny little garden and all the work already involved to keep things healthy. I marvel at what farmers can do...

James, do you ever use Neem Oil spray?

Milk- Douse away. You can't store or save the extra. I usually spray the excess on my neighbors roses.
Greencure should be fine with the lady B's and the bees.
Copper is better used as a protectant but will kill mildew's, early blight, etc. and I believe it did help with mold. Copper is still toxic, even though it is permitted in organic gardening. Sprayed directly on beneficial insects I would be surprised if it wasn't detrimental. Once dry on the plants I don't know.

Many people use copper alone all season, I use it as my last resort spray if none of the "lighter" sprays are working.

I spray my cucumbers and squash with Daconil and copper alternately whenever I spray my tomatoes and peppers. I use the bleach to kill back the diseases and the fungicides to help prevent their occurrence.

We finally got some rain the past couple of days and of course back came the gray mold on my JD's Special C Tex. I sprayed it again yesterday and it has rained twice since I sprayed. I'm afraid it is going to lose a lot of leaves if this keeps up. It is already bare of foliage half way up. I have already gotten 8 tomatoes off it so most of the tomatoes in the most danger of bad sun scald have already been picked.

My gray mold is still around, isn't it? This is on my cuke plant. The infected leaves always seems to be limited to around where the stem comes out of the soil...

It sure looks like it.....
Keep spraying and trimming...

Powdery mildew showed up on my cukes this weekend.
I believe I have a touch of Early Blight on a few of the Toms as well.
Too be expected. Sprayed last night and will trim and spray again tomorrow morning.
