I have that one as Toltuska and the translation is Fatty Woman, a large pink heart up to 500 gms. Also being grown out by 2 of my seed producers this summer.

How about one named whatever that could be translated as Skinny Woman to lessen the bias against large proportioned women.

Fat could mean large, and a synonym for large is great, so "Great Woman" would be my PC translation.

I'm curious about Tolstushka, as I tried to grow it some years ago and it's the only seedling that died on me..

Now that I get the translation, I'm not so keen to try again.. But I will wait for taste reports...!

Here's what Andrey wrote,he always writes quite a bit about each variety

Totulska(Fatty Woman),,indet,RL,rasp/pink,heart,200-500 gms, excellent taste.

Over the many years that Andrey has b een sending me seeds I have found his taste comments to be spot on for me.

But I'll wait until, well,I just checked the spread sheet and see that Neil in IL is the only one doing seed production, and Neil I've known since about 1990 via SSE listings and by now,if he likes something I will too,and the reverse. There were three of us who used to send seeds for our best new ones each season,to each other,and that's how I got to know their taste adjectives as they did mine.

I honestly have no idea if they are correct. but Google translate is sketchy at best. I have used it on a lot of Russian tomato web sites, and it gives just a general idea of what the Russian-speaking person is saying, usually putting it into English awkwardly.

One example, google translates the Russian word for "supports," by which is meant tomato stakes or cages, into "garters," a word that is used here to mean a piece of lingerie
