Instead of putting all of the attributes of the particular tomato on each package and getting writer's cramp, wouldn't it be easier to reference that variety with a link that one can reference from Tania's website???

Yes, that sounds like a good idea. All I'm putting on the packs is name and year saved.
It hurts my hand hold a pen due to a nerve disease in my hands. But I'm stubborn and handwrite them anyway. Then there are the long ones that I really wanted to abbreviate - like JL's Pink Egg |

Salt... You poor thing. I know you have to be in pain. What about using word document and make label on puter and you can put lots of varieties on one page and then either print out say ten pages of that document if you have that many packs going in or you can print out one copy and go to printing place and have them make you some copies.
Or if it helps you, pm what you sending in and description and I'll make you tags and mail to you. Then you can just put in your baggy. Be glad to do it if it will help your hands. |

Thank you Star. We have a printer and MS Office. I used to write/print a lot. I still write out the labels because I'm stubborn and want to prove to myself that I still can. I wish they looked better, but others can read them - so I'm doing okay.
Oh, and LOL @ "I saved a poo-pile of seeds." I did that with WOW and Texas Wild Cherry seeds this year too. Last edited by AlittleSalt; July 28, 2016 at 11:18 PM. Reason: typed in wrong variety |

Cuor di Bue
My top heirloom producer in a very hot summer. Few were juicy with lots of seeds, most extra meaty with few seeds. Very good flavor. More to follow, seed harvesting has begun... |

WOW is both sweet tasting and grows an interesting tall plant.
I often think of a typical INDET. tomato plant as a bushy plant if left to grow without a lot of pruning, but my results from WOW were much different. It grows in a more vining type way. To me, growing it on a trellis at least 7'+ tall would be perfect for WOW without a lot of pruning. Another thing I like about it is that it's not one or two stems that grow like this - but many. It was a top 3 in our RKN infested garden for sure. I'm hoping they grow that way for others. That's why I'm sending in 20 packs to the MMMM. I should have added that with the vines - it is very easy to tie them off wherever you want them to grow. I think there are a lot of possibilities with this one. This is one of the ones still holding on in my high heat, high humidity, little-to-no rain season this year. |
