Is it damping off?

My big ole row of peas germinated and sprouted beautifully. But since then an increasing number of little plants have been dying.

I thought with damping off, I'd see a very thin, brownish yellow area near the soil line. This isn't the case. About 1" up, around the first leaf nodule, the stem is just limp (but still plenty green) and the plants are falling over dead.

What is up and what can I do?

I looked closely today at one of the damaged plants. Right around the damaged portion of the stem was a tiny, tiny maggot. Coincidence or something to worry about?

I also found one of these near my carrot seed tape..

Lots of options. doesn't sound like damping off. lots of things would find pea shoots delicious

Cabbage maggot! That's it. I've seen the flies, the little cocoon
like things, and the maggots. This is definitely it... anything to do about it?!

resow the missing ones.

there are products designed for cabbage maggot fly to be had at the garden center. yellow sticky tape to catch the adults will help. they are a bit difficult to eradicate but they do have a life cycle so re-sowing will hopefully get you some peas.
