Would if I could....neighborhood covenance would not allow such a thing! Yes, I know, I need to move...within 5 years, perhaps!

Would they let you use low-tech low tunnels?--they would not be considered a permanent structure and you can make them moveable.

This will be good information and I hope your plants survive after all that hard work. Keep us posted.

News could be worse...and is interesting. Lost about 20 hot pepper plants (out of approx 600), 2 sweet peppers (out of 300), no eggplant or tomatillos (now that is an interesting observation, since many consider eggplant much more tender!) - and about 80 tomato seedlings out of about 300 (by far the worse hit was with tomatoes). Particularly hard hit were Grandfather Ashlock, Dwarf Stone and Green Giant. The edge of the driveway and the edges of the trays took the most hits. Many of those that are still alive will exhibit lower foliage flaws. Russian Roulette time - I have a garage full of transplanted, yellowing (due to no sun) seedlings, but near freezing temps the next two nights.

I am also considering making this my last season doing this for awhile - travel with my job is not likely to decrease and it is all becoming just too much! Starting next year it may be back to just enough for my garden and a few extra...

Craig,

Sorry to hear about the losses....
If it makes you feel any better, I have 5 Dwarf Stone, 4 Grandfather Ashlock, and 5 Green Giant all in good shape.
(Although 1 GG is starting to look like a RL....)
I'd be glad to save some for you if need me to.

Lee

Thanks, Lee - I have a few backups, so will be OK - however, tonight is really going to be touch and go - the Reemay is wet, and we are sched for two nights of 30. This may be it - which will reinforce my potential decision of giving it a break after this year!

I hope to plant a flat of the oddities, F1s, etc tomorrow.
