Terracycle
I found this product at Home Depot. I thought it was a great idea. Not affordable for the gardener with 200+ tomatoes, but I loved the idea and concept. Check out their site at Terracycle.net

I heard of this although it's not availailable in my area. A few months back the owner of the company was interviewed on a podcast and his business model was pretty smart. All bottles are recycled, collected from schools etc. I believe the business is located in an inner city to reduce labor costs--

I saw tht at HD as well...they did not have the tomato food pictured above...but a basic garden fertilizer. I may just have to try it.

I bought some of this last month, as the tomato plants I bought at the college sale were on the small side, and I wanted to give them a quick boost. It is too expensive! I think the concept of the university students producing it is great but the price...
Lucky for me, a friend on another list has a worm bin setup and he gave me a big jug of this stuff, only concentrated to mix 5-1.

I was able to get 8 pounds of actual worm castings for under 4 bucks. This leachate of castings in used soda bottles busines loks like a money making business but as a consumer I see it as less than optimal. Get real worm pp, add it to the planting holes and be done with it.

to use, not particurly messy or smelly organic alternative with great fertilizer balance for people that would normally use something like liquid MG instead. Someone brought me a bottle of an equivalent product ("worm tea") last winter from a local company. I used it on houseplants, which loved the stuff.
