okra question
Im noticing little bumps on the okra pods that I never saw last year, and on the stalks of the plants there appears to be something that looks like salt grains all over them. Any ideas? Here is a pic of the pods, not great quality

I'm not sure but it could be bug bites. Sometimes I notice sugar ants on my plants and they just love my sunflowers for some reason.

Yup, I had sugar ants on mine last year.... the same ones that you find on peonies. Have you seen any ants on the blooms?

Aphids were a real problem early on with the LGV. To the point where the blooms and new growth yellowed and fell off. I was concerned that I may not get anything from them so I pulled half of them and resowed Emerald in their place because I had seeds for the variety laying around. The LGV has responded by sending out numerous side shoots, so I may end up with a decent crop from them afterall. I pulled 12 or so pods then they stopped flowering all together for a couple weeks. They are beginning to flower again and the Emerald are coming along nicely as well
