Japanese Green Peppers
Here is a pic of my harvest the other day of some Japanese green peppers (piiman, in Japanese). They are not like a bell pepper as they are much smaller and thin walled. We love the taste because they are so tasty (intensely green pepper flavour) grilled or stir fried with a little sesame seed oil.

HI Michael,
I got the seed from Japan- Takii and Sakata. I might save some seed this year and grow them out to see what I get from these hybrids. Jeff |

Jeff-thanks for the info-found the USA websites for these seed companies. Good growing.

Japanese green peppers
Thanks Jeff, those look nice, and I too was looking at my Fushimi and was thinking of picking the ones that had turned red; I am going to be making Greek salad and I figured they would provide a mild pepper flavor with a bright red color. I guess I too will save some of my seeds. My husband has a distressing habit of adding all the saved pepper seeds together and broadcasting everywhere in the garden, including potted plants. I know most of those will be poblanos but I like the idea of having mild Japanese ones too.
