Default A "new" sweet Russian heart - Bychiy Glaz

I received the seed from my Mom who lives in Russia and she purchased it from the local seed vendor. This tomato is called 'Bychiy Glaz', which means 'Bull's Eye" - it is very crimson red color, unusually shaped, medium size hearts with excellent sweet taste. It is a winner in our 2008 'bland' year.

The salad I made from it was so sweet that I simply could not add enough salt to make it 'salty'.

So for those who like sweet medium sized red hearts of Russian origin - I'd certainly recommend this one!

No, I do not have enough seeds to offer it . At least not yet. Look at the sliced fruits - each only has 10 seeds max, if at all!

I am cursed this year -

the tomatoes that I really liked did not produce enough seeds, I lost about 25% of varieties I grew to the late blight, so I could not even taste them, and about 25% new varieties that did ripen so far have been crossed. This is so unfair, I was about to cry two weeks ago when the blight wiped out my uncovered plants... Now the weather is nice and warm, but the tomato garden is 50% gone...

I still have a few fruits on the plants, and if they ripen, I may be able to get more seeds... Keep your fingers crossed.
