Default Rabbits left me 12 plants.

Hi everyone, I planted 2 150ft rows' of broc. and the rabbit's went to town on them. What is a good cheap way to protect seedlings from them. A fence will cost to much, what about a big plastic cup with the bottom cut out, milk carton's. Anybody have any good idea's.

Thank;s Matt

Matt - sorry to hear about your loss. I use metal coffee cans with the bottoms cut out - they last for years and years, you even leave the cans around the plant - if you don't get them off before the tom becomes too big. Ask all your friends, co-workers, etc. post on free cycle. I use the cans on all my set out plants. Get yourself a couple of good outdoor cats. Feed them near your tomato patch. Rabbits don't even set paws in my yard - probably spoken too soon - but Kitty Girl is a great hunter - small squirrels, rabbits, mice, sparrows. Probably could use gallon milk and orange juce jugs but you need to use a small stake to keep them from blowing away. piegirl

Sounds like it's time for some rabbit stew.
