ebay ?

Wondering if anyone has sold their tomato seeds on ebay? I have about 20 varieties with 100 + seeds each that came from bagged blossoms. Also, I did not take any pictures of the tomatoes. Just wondering.

I used to sell on eBay for about 7-8 years. But that was before eBay got so goofy with rules and stuff. Not to mention their fees are outraegeous now. And the site is full of scamers on both the buying and selling end. Too many headaches.

If you want to just get your feet wet trying something online, try out Bonanza.com. They are an alternative to eBay. No listing fee, just a final value fee. It's not an auction but a fixed price site tho. But unless you have a set price on things Google won't list you. And Google Shopping is where all the traffic comes from now days. Nice community without all the goofy stuff at eBay.

I list some of my varieties there as "carols tomatoes".

eBay attracts 2 crowds: those looking for that rare collectible, and those looking for the cheapest possible price. There are untold dozens selling tomato seeds there. By the time you pay your listing fees, % of sales to eBay, and PayPal's %, that does not leave much margin if you are going to be competitive with the other sellers.

Many do it, but I cannot imagine many make much $$ versus the time commitment.

I was going to sell some of my tomato seeds on Ebay and decided against it.
You post a listing. Then you need to monitor the emails if someone has a question, shipping, sorting, combined shipping, confused customers, all that stuff for 1 or 2 dollars, not worth it to me. So in my case I decided to build a greenhouse in my back yard. Grow my own plants, post a sign on the front lawn that reads on the third sunday in May (I live in Michigan) the tomato plants will go on sale from 11AM to 4PM. Post the listing on craigs list and do a one day blow out sale. I dont have an Ebay store so as an individual trying to sell only a few tomato varieties I think it will be more profitable growing and selling my own than trying internet sales. IMHO.

Casino, I'll give the Graigs list a try next spring. I do sell plants here at home but I'm a little of the beaten path.

I know, it's an awful pic.

I'll have to look at this year's pics and see if we got a better one. I rather doubt it tho. We were mostly taking pics as we were picking for seed saving and JD's wasn't on that list this year.

I have hundreds of pics I need to take next year.
