seed catalogs arriving - Page 4

I have a HUGE pile of catalogs...I rarely order from them, preferring to order online instead.

My wife is at home and intercepts ALL tomato catalogs!!! Thank God for my online computer at work.

I did raid the recycle bin and found my Tomato Growers- one of my favorites, threw it in my car where it will be safe.

I need to change my address so I get them at work.

I promised her I would only grow 50 varieties this year at my house ( she doesn't know about my plans for a satelite garden at another property my buddy has, heheehe)

Now to start making THE LIST!!!

Mark, Glenn called me the other night to tell me four things.

First, they were way behind for reasons I'm not going to post here.

Second, the first of the catalogs were mailed I think last Thursday or Friday, I can't remember which and he said they start by mailing them to the East Coast first, and then by batches across the country.

Third, he wanted me to tell him when my catalog came.

Fourth, he wanted to tell me that two whole pages in the tomato section got messed up name-wise and other-wise but he knew I'd be a bit happy b'c the Variety Sandpoint, which he knows I don't like, morphed into Sandpit.

So that's where things are at.

I noticed that Sandhill website has the sweet potato section up-to-date and also has the 2011 form (a week or so ago they had still the 2010 form).

You will need to start coming up with reasons for coming home late and dirty.

I will have 3 satellite locations this year. Makes life interesting.

I love all my seed catalogs equally, but if I'm going to actually order, it's Bakers Creek all the way.

I use BC catalogs to show my country friends the brave new world of seed sales. After they peruse it & digest, I often get the dry "Don't believe all you read..." - dry understatement at its finest.

im corious can you porder catalogues from the websites for free? or do you have to place orders to get the catalague? proubly a stupid question but how do you go about gettting the catalagues?

I remember coming across a couple of companies that wanted $ for a catalog and would "reimburse" you when you placed your first order, but I don't remember which ones. Most are happy to send you a catalog and most have on-line versions of their catalogs, as well. It's easy to request a catalog on-line or by phone.
No such thing as a stupid question.

Most of the sites have a "Request Catalog" button or link. Most of the bigger companies send it free. There are a few that do charge.

ive got a few (ok maby 30) requested one from one company just to see how bad they are with stuffs but i have 0 intent to buy ANYTHING from that company im honestly unlikely to buy much of anything atleast right away from many but i may--some are also for pricing with seeds (as i would like to sell some of my seeds later this year or early next year)
