Please help!

I posted on the Disease Forum but didn't hear from anyone so am posting here and including pics. I am in a panic. Started out this morning, after a night of heavy rains, by noticing what looked like black spots covering the leaves of the toms. It has worsed all day. I'm now even noticing brown spots on my basil! What in the world! I sprayed "Natria Disease Control" on them earlier because I was desperate to do something. And it was sunny out so couldn't use Daconil yet). I can spray Daconil now or I also have Actinovate/Exel LG -- or should I resort to Bleach at this point? Not believing how fast this is spreading.

It's been very, very humid and today after the rain stopped there's been next to zero wind. I put a fan out there and have it blowing on some of them.

This is on every single tom on my deck to some degree; much worse on some. Last time I checked it wasn't on the toms on the side of the house.

Help!?

I wasn't familiar with the product, just checked the label PDF online to see if it could be sprayed during the day and it says it can be sprayed anytime of day. That's good, some cant and I thought you might have inadvertantly burned the leaves by spraying during sunshine, but that's not it. I would probably go to Daconil or equivalent next, but make sure it is early Am or late afternoon for that stuff or it will burn the leaves. You will probably lose all the infected leaves anyway, but you should be sure to vut off all the infected leaves you see and put them right in a sealed bag. Make sure to wipe the scissors or pruners between plants so as not to spread the infection. Then keep up a twice/ week regimen with the DAconil for 4 weeks, then once/ month. That should control it if it is a type of infection that can be controlled with Daconil( not systemic, but rather foliar)

Thanks, ginger! Yeah I had run up to my nursery desperate for something and found the Natria and that it was okay to spray in the sun.

Really doesn't look that bad to you yet? It looks so bad to me when, yesterday, there was literally nothing but lovely green leaves. Some of the stems are showing it too. Well, I had to do something so I went with the Actinovate/ExelLG. But I can for sure spray tomorrow with the Daconil or Tuesday and then start the twice weekly regimen for 4 weeks.

By the way, oddly I noticed that some of my flowers have it too. I moved those far away from the toms. I also noticed the bee balm I brought home from the nursery yesterday also has it so I moved that one away too.

p.s. I don't think I got good pics of this, but, the leaves that are affected are totally covered with dark brown spots. Almost looks like they have soil splattered on them (but they don't).

p.s.s. this is the type of thing I saw on my roses last year so it makes me think it's black spot. Except with the roses, I just cut them all the way back to the ground and they came back and flowered again. Part of me thinks bacterial canker since it's on some of the stems? Another part of me thinks bacterial speck because I think it's also on my jalepenos?

Feeling awful lonely out here - not many peeps responding! Everyone out in the gardens?

I'm really sad. This is looking like the pics posted here of TSWV. I really don't even know what to do. Don't know that I have thrips but not sure I know how to ID them. I don't even know if I'm wasting my time with the Natria and then the Actinovate/ExelLG I sprayed. I know enough to know that if it's TSWV, I should toss them entirely. We're talking 25 plants here. It happened over night. Would it have happened that quickly if it was TSWV?

Babice, the pictures you showed do not look like TSWV because those are many tiny spots all over the leaves, not large brown patches and some clear spots.
Calm down if you can. The worst thing would be to panic and hit your plants with so many things at once that they cant take the stress. TSWV wouldn't move overnight, but fungus can. It takes a few days for thrip damage to show up.
Get some sleep and hit em with the daconil tomorrow, OK?
I know this is sacrilege to say, but they are just tomatoes when push comes to shove, not worth getting upset this much over.

Babice, I'm no pro but that doesn't look like tswv to me. your leaves and tops aren't shiveraling up, it just leaf issues. I understand your concern , i've been dealing with what i believe is bacterial specking this whole yr. Yours looks like fungal or bacterial which you should be able to deal with by spraying daconil. A couple of times I've picked alot of folage off my plants and sprayed with a combination of daconil and next time maconbez. My plants are starting to grow faster than the specking. I'm confident you'll find the answer and you'l get back on track.

Thanks everyone! Sorry I was in panic-mode, there.

Hard not to get emotional about something you've invested so much time and love into. DH made me laugh - he told me if I lose them all we will have a memorial ceremony!

I made him promise we'd cremate them in a bonfire ceremony.

Augie - I had started to suspect what you wrote - that I didn't need to do a whole ton of stuff to the things. I was just feeling so unsure about what to do and started wondering if I shoulda thrown the worst ones away to get them away from the others, etc., etc. All these years I've been gardening I haven't seen anything like this. I've gotten it on roses, sure, but not on so many plants in such a large area! Live and learn, babice. Live and learn. I'll update ya tomorrow....well...that's actually today...but will update when I can see things again.

Babice, I completely understand what you are going through. I've also dealt with chemical drift and residual chemicals on people plants I've put out for them (i feel like they are my babies). Its frustrasting dealing with something you have no power over. I'm now also dealing with 100 degree heat for the next week... It keeps me awake at night also.
Like I said I'm just a novice and it looks like the pros gave you some great advice over night.I'm hoping all goes well for you today. Keep us posted.

Thanks augie! Very much keeping my fingers crossed. I just don't want to lose all 25 of them, for goodness sake! I was in a rush this morning (something to do with being up so late last night....). I did get a look at them but didn't have time to take pics. The worst ones' leaves are wilting now. The others still show the brown specs all of the affected leaves. Left them alone for now.

It's a beautiful day out there right now with low humidity and nice breezess. Still not sure what the heck this is so, upon Martha's kind advice, going to post more pics later and ask for advice from you experts.
