Sun Gold - normally the first tomato of the season
Taxi - Good tasting, reliable, resistant. This variety came through big in times that blight killed many of our tomatoes. One year it was the only tomato that produced besides a cherry variety. Stripped German- Great looking and tasting tomato Green Zebra - Reliable and great tasting Aunt Gerties Gold - My favorite tasting tomato like pineaplle mango juicy and great texture. Late and not very productive. But worth the real estate and the wait. Japanese trifele black is prolific and reliable and love the shape. Maglia Rosa - Wins my beauty contest, they all come out so lovely and opalescent, productive and tasty Last edited by maricybele; July 8, 2012 at 01:41 PM. |

I just had my first Orange Russian a Bi-color heart.
It was on the vine earlier today and then something pulled it off and took a bite out of the end. Well me being who I am I washed it off with a hose and cut off a slice. What a wonderful tomato. It is one I will grow again for sure. I just cant get over the taste, indescribable it was like some sort of fruit. Worth |

at this point i can only add one to the list and its sungold F1. this plant was early, super prolific and more tolerable to the bacterial infections i faced than any other tomato.

Red Brandywine has been my "grow again" variety. An excellent main-crop variety IMO.
I'm hoping, at least a few of the varieties I'm growing this year, will be good enough to warrant growing again. |

Granadero - Highly productive Roma type, grew 2 years in a row, over 40lbs per plant (Johnny's)
Atavico - San Marzano type. (Austrosaat) Sunstream - a Strawberry tomato, much more vigorous than tomato berry (Lindbloms of Sweden) Sakura - One of the best cherry type tomatoes I've tried (Johnny's) Geronimo - Best production a a beefsteak. (Johnny's) Arbason - An earlier beefsteak than Geronimo. (Johnny's) Montessino Grape (Johnny's) Loranne - The tomato sold as Zima by Mastronardi Varieties on which the jury is still out whether I will grow next year: Beorange - an orange beefsteak Black Krim - has poor disease resistance Indigo Rose - Do not like plant growth habit. Annelise - a sister variety to Campari with more resistances. Being discontinued by supplier. Varieties under consideration next year: Sacher F1 - A Kumato like tomato with more disease resistance, better vigour, better fruit coloration, and better production. |

"Black Krim - has poor disease resistance"
That surprises me! Black Krim has been one of my most disease resistant varieties. It is one of the earliest and latest to produce ripe fruit for me. I won't grow it again because I am not a fan of the texture when ripe although the texture improves dramatically if eaten before they are fully ripe. Ted |

Black Krim is doing great for me here in NJ. No signs of disease, and it's been setting fruit thoughout the high temps. I just have to wait for one to ripen now!

My Black Krim mostly went down early this year to foliar problems. It seems temperamental, and I won't grow it again.
