Default Earl's Faux RL?

Anyone had an RL Earl's Faux?
Maybe Unc' Earl can chime in.
Out of one cell of eight seedlings one is RL.
The seed is from what I saved last season so a cross is a poss.
Thanks, Grub.

There is another thread here somewhere about that. There were a few folks who got RL seedlings. I planted 8 seeds got 3 RL and 2 PL. I threw away the RL seedlings.

I grew my RL Earl's Faux -some are calling it Faux Earl's Faux (apparently, as can be read elsewhere, several people got some from the same source, thanks, Bully!) - and I quite liked it - the plant stayed quite small - only 2 or 3 feet - but was quite productive with medium to large size dark pink fruit - much earlier than Earl's Faux, Brandywine, etc. - good tomato flavor - I will try it again next year and see what I get. I would like to hear what anyone else experienced with these seeds. This tomato probably has no relation to the cross you have down under, but considering one of its parents, I figure it's worth giving it a go! (After all, isn't that how Earl's Faux was born?)

Default WHOOPS.

I must have missed that thread.
Sorry. I'll try EF RL.

As for bees, sheesh, my garden is already buzzing with them. The flowers on the lime, lemon and mandarin trees are alive.

Hey Grub,
Check Out "Earl's Faux" from July 25, and "Faux Earl's Faux", from August 27. ( I don't know how to include links, but if you search these, you'll find them.)

Default Got It

Thanks for the pointers.
Ah, yeh, a search function.
Found the threads but nothing too rivetting there.
More a curiosity thing.
Though, I do expect mine to be different.
Earl's Faux was alongside Aker's West Virginia and next to Neves Azorean Red.
Mmm.

I never gotten anything but PLs, but then I ain't grown out 10,000 of them. :-) Disclaimer: I ain't responsible for anything that doesn't come from my garden, and if it comes from my garden, then I've got to start the seeds myself. LOL. How's that for a disclaimer?

I think Bully did sire some dastard seeds. :-)

Ciao all,

Very eeenteresting....my Faux Earl's Faux are orange, but yes, my plant is very small..I attributed that to the transplanted seedling being very sickly at the get-go. The flavour is great, though, so it's all good, and the flesh is quite dense, very nice for sandwiches.

Weren't yours orange as well, John from Connecticut?

Well, it's the earliness factor that's a big one for where I live - while mine are not yellow or orange, they do taste great, and are quite dense, and at least three weeks ahead of "Daddy" Earl's Faux - as I said, worth another go next year - hopefully F2 won't take a complete left turn, since I will only really grow one or two plants.
