I have to put in a vote for Hawaiian Pineapple also. It has really been a standout in my garden this year. The flavor is just as Kathy described and it had a really nice yield. In fact, I got my seeds from Kathy. Thanks again, Kath!

Looks like Kath keeps better records than I do. I would place HP solidly in the mid season varieties, later than some of the mid season blacks like Black Krim (which I think of as early mid season). This year I grew the bicolor Serendipity and it was one of my first ripe mid season fruits. It was smaller than HP. It had very good flavor. I would not replace HP or German striped with it but if a person wanted an early (early mid season) bicolor I think it would be a a good one to try. It was also very productive.

I'm growing one plant of Serendipity for the first time this year and it has one fruit that's not quite ripe yet so it'll probably be a bit less than 80 days from transplant for me.

I've never tried German Striped, Maria, but might give it a try based on your recommendation.

I tried growing Mr. Stripey this year, and I was not impressed at all.

That's good to hear! I picked 5-6 transplants out of a greenhouse full of about a dozen overgrown varieties left over from a plant sale, and Striped German was one of my choices. Now I'm really looking forward to it!

I haven't tried Hawaiin pineapple, but I love regular Pineapple. More flavor, for me, then Beauty Queen. It is late though.

I grew Pineapple and liked it, but not enough to grow it again so I never grew it in the same year as Hawaiian Pineapple. I think HP has more flavor and it is more productive and earlier than Pineapple was in my garden.

not what i wanted to hear. i have one in a pot and growing for the first time. just grabbed it from HD cause it was a perfect looking plant. its also taking forever to ripen. i had my first container tomato 2 weeks ago and steadily since. its been cher purple and a seed mixup which i am happy about cause its a killer pink tomato. mr stripey looks to still be at least a week away

You might like Mr. Stripey. I thought it was ok but I liked others better.
