Default Dark smudgy spots...?

I was checking my aquaponic growbed and noticed this on the lowest branch of my Purple Cherokee. I cut the branch off, just in case. But, is this something I need to be worried about? I do have white flies (grrrr...)

Thank you! I guess I'll hope it's the nutrient imbalance as I can't spray anything (least of all copper) onto anything in my aquaponic system. (But I can add a little fertilizer. Maxigrow w/Iron, I think it's called.)

I didn't notice anything else wrong this morning. Fingers crossed!

I have comet goldfish, atm, as I was just cycling the system (it's only a month old.) It's ready now and I'll be getting tilapia in a week. (Otoh, having goldfish is soooo easy and pretty much worry free. LOL)

The tilapia might solve the problem without any extra work.
