Our new addition...
As some of you requesting seeds have been made aware, my wife had our first child on October 11. Our daughter, Catherine Elizabeth weighed 8lb 6oz and was 20.5 inches long. She is the first girl born into my family since 1936. By comparison, there have been 11 boys born during that time period.

Congratulations.....and oh my....she's adorable! Love the fact she's already making a fashion statement! I'm willing to bet the women of the family are going to spoil her rotten dressing her up...something that just doesn't feel the same with the boys of the family.
All the best to all of you...and to the beaming parents....may you get plenty of sleep. Zana |

What a cutie!!! I'm just an old "grandpa type" and I get "gushy" about these new little folks.
Right about this time, most parents are thinking about "10 toes and 10 fingers". Enjoy her now and cherish these first moments. In about 15 or so years, she will begin to rip your heart out very slowly every day. And you'll thank God every day for the pain. Congratulations on your new beginning. I agree with Zana about the fashion thing. Those women will spoil this child ..... ROTTEN!!!

Now that's an American Beauty. Fascinating about the streak of boys with no girls until now. I bet there are some female elders who are quite excited to go shopping!

As a father of 5, three boys and then two girls, I can tell you this: Boys are great and you get to
do the Little League, hunting, wrestling bit and have great fun, but little girls are just plain special. You can come home from a terrible day at work and the little girl jumps on your lap and hugs you and the world is instantly bright and cheerful and the problems seem to disappear. They are a special breed. Enjoy!! |
