I've not tried brown scotch bonnet, but I've had the others. I prefer chocolate habanero. Trinidad 7 pot brown should be a chemical weapon, it's that hot!!! Bhut's have a good flavor the heats up on those also.

Thanks, I was also leaning toward Choco Habanero based on other reviews I've read...

IMO Jamaican Hot Chocolate has the best flavor of the ones I've tried. The 7-Pot is like putting a burning coal in your mouth and to me the bhuts on their own can have an almost chemical like taste. I do like to use the bhuts to add some depth to powders and sauces, they have a throat burn where a lot of the habs are mostly lips and tongue.

I agree with marktutt, Jamaican Hot Choco has been stellar. Market customers come back for them, my father makes lots of hot pepper powder from them, and a couple of restaurants buy whatever I have left over. I'm planting a lot more in 2013 to meet the demand!

It is. It is used for military grade tear gas. |

Native Seed Search has a few good looking brown peppers from Mexico and New Mexioco.

I am not a fan of hot peppers but I can tell you that one of the best smelling peppers I had this year was one called Chocolate Congo. It smelled like tropical fruit. My neighbor tried it and said it was "habanero hot". He looked to be in quite a bit of discomfort.
It is listed on the website. -Steve |

Steve, I am in Trinidad right now, and I suspect that is a Trinidad variety. I will look around for it.

AKA Congo Black. Smelled good, didn't have much taste. I probably still have lots of seeds of that one.
Very jealous Scott, I only seem to go to the Caribbean during hurricane season. Have fun! |

I am offering seeds of a habanero called Big Sun that I picked up today at a local gardening store in Port of Spain. Also, some Cardi Green, West Indies Red, and Caribbean Red. Let me know if you want a few of those.

Scott I would love to have some seeds for those. I would be more than happy to trade you something in return.
I don't have too many peppers, but take a look and see if anything looks good to you. http://doublehelixfarms.com/ --Steve |
