Disapering mater plants.

Went out to look at my plants and found 12 missing (Cherokee Purple & Eva Purple Ball). Mortgage Lifter and five out of six habanero peppers still there. Don't know what happened to the missing plants. But I suppose it is to late to get new plants so will have to see what the fall group of plants do.very bummed.

Nope and we are in Killeen TX about three or four blocks from Fort Hood.

Ive heard of thieves taking ripe fruit, but the whole plant? That's over the top!

One would think that planted in the ground would qualify as "tied down" but anymore.... who knows. We've had flowers near the road stolen, planter and all, and we live in a rural area. That same year, they stole my little crab boat I fixed up off of a craigslist freebie

Kevin, if you get time to replant others, put a little sign next to them - GMO test plants - wash hands after handling
If the thieves can read, I'll bet you won't lose any more plants. in place. In fact, leave the sign up when you have ripe fruit.

Heh you can tell that I'm city folk because I assumed thieves straight away.

We had a 4' jade plant stolen from in front of our flat in SF. And more puzzlingly, I had a Weber kettle grill stolen from in front of my apartment in Brooklyn--WHILE LIT!

Kevin.....it is the tomato gang. Part of the initiation into the gang is that you have to steal
a total of 25 planted tomato plants. If you want to get jumped out of the gang, you stand
in the middle of a circle of gang members and they pelt you with over ripe tomatoes. I hate
to be a snitch, but there are a lot of posters here that are deep with the "Tom Cats" (the
official name of the tomato gang). Most are far from being teen-agers, so learn to suspect
everyone including little old ladies who are often shot-callers in this gang. The San Diego
gang detail is doing it's level best to infiltrate the gang, but none of the current officers are
adequately informed about heirlooms to keep from being exposed.
