I hate mosquitoes, but they seem to love me. Sounds like the minnows are a good solution without having to spray.

I had them in my earthboxes. I bought mosquito dunks from Amazon or EBay. 1/4 in the hole and goodbye Mosquitos for about 2 months. They are a little donut shaped disk of BT. Love them!
I am always the first person in a crowd that the Mosquitos go for.

Mosquitos just plain suck!

Tossing the fish in the barrels.... very clever

What will you feed the minnows later?

Maybe feed the minnows to the compost heap?

I was worried about those pesky skeeters getting into my eathtainer, so took a few precautions. I glued a screened sink washer over the drain hole. I had to be careful gluing it on, you don't want too much silicone glue or else you'll gum up the drainhole. I just traced the rubber rim of the washer with a bead of silicone glue, you don't need much to get it to stick. Just wanted to mention it in case other earthtainer peeps might find it useful. I also put screen-door mesh over the watering pipe.

So far it's keeping the skeeters out of what could be an ideal breeding ground for them.
