Where I live they're called 'carpenters', probably because they love old rotten wood. They can mow down seedlings alright, but even more of a serious pest on squash last season, as soon as a blossom opened it would be full of them, and they ate the whole zucchini too if I didn't pick off the blossoms and pick the zukes timely. The squash were trellised and up off the ground, so don't believe they can't climb. I wouldn't encourage em... for sure. Given the right conditions they can get out of hand.

So I read this "google OK forum pill bugs and read what okiedawn says". We have had an EXTREMELY wet winter which could be a reason their population is so high. I guess I'll look for this Slug-Go Plus and try to get the population down. I'm still going to try and get a picture up somehow. It's very interesting to see them sitting there on good leaves eating away. I have enough bad luck with gardening without having to worry about these things. In the last 12 months I've had cabbage worms, horned Tomato worms, pill bugs, mildew, and damping off. I guess these are problems that come with the territory and you have to learn to deal with them and hopefully prevent and treat.
