What is this disease on my plant?

What disease is this? Should I toss throw these plants out? Thanks

I have plenty of leaves that look like that on my plants since I haven't pruned yet. I'm pretty sure it is just an older leaf that has run out of stuff. If the newer leaves look ok I would just remove those older leaves. I would not pull the plant. Good luck.

When I have a tomato that has leaves that get old, they usually just get pale yellow a little leathery and start to dry up and fade away. They always start at the bottom and it isn't really common til late in the season. I am no expert, but I am a bit concerned about that picture you show..

Have you sprayed the plant or drenched the soil with anything? Are these plants outside? in a pot or ground? Where are these leaves located on the plant? And, how long did it take for them to start looking like that?

I ask, because I am not clever enough most of the time to tell by looking at a picture, so it helps to have some background on it... ie, wet weather, bugs, temps etc... Lorri D

It doesn't look like any disease I've ever seen. It looks more like phytotoxicity from something sprayed on the plant.

Hmmmm.... My whole plant looks the same as the leaf. I have them out back in 7 gallon containers. I have been noticing a couple leaves starting to get like the one pictured so I would cut them off. But I got busy at work for the past few days and haven't had a chance to tend to them as well. Been having my son water. Came home yesterday and the whole plant was like that leaf. My neighbors gardeners go crazy with the weed spray. I don't use anything except MG and water. No rain issues( I wish), the weather has been in the 70's.

Ughhh, sorry about your neighbors. Where I used to live, the county would come and spray the ditches. I didn't know when it was going to happen the first time and it basically took out my first row of tomatoes that year. They did resemble your picture, but not for long. The leaves quickly curled and turned to brown paper and blew apart and away. What kind of soil did you start with and how much and how often do you use MG?

Also, at this point if you have many like that, I might sacrifice one to an autopsy. Pull it up, cut open the trunk and look for yellow or brown inside and look at the crown and roots and see what condition they are in. Lorri D

I just noticed my 4 yr old Manzano pepper has the same thing. 7 stems all dried and papery brown like you mentioned. I harvested the peppers I could. It is right on the other side of the neighbors fence. Ugghhhh! I think I will look into finding a space at a community garden for next year. I don't feel like fighting with the neighbors lol.
