Posting photos to the forum

Hello all,

I hope that I did not break any rules in forum etiquette, I have struggled to add photos of my sick tomato plant to solicit help from forum members. I tried as hard as I could to follow the instructions. Created an album, downsized the photos to be less than 97 Kb in size. But then I really struggled with how to toggle back and forth between writing a reply and copying the URL of the photo so that I could include the photo within the response. I am sure that there must be a simple way to do this. Has anyone else struggled? Is there any tips for me to follow on including photos in future posts?

My suggestion would be to create a Flickr account. It is simple to upload photos to Flickr, select the appropriate photo size, then copy the BB code link to your post here. The photo appears, with a link back to Flickr.

I personally use www.photobucket.com to upload and post photos. WWW.flicker.com and other photo sites work equally well. Simply edit your photos to an appropriate size and upload them to the posting site you choose to use. I prefer the free sites. You should then be presented with some options concerning the format you wish to use to post the photo on a forum. I believe I use the "img" format and copy the link to the forum.

I'm wondering if some of the "cloud" storage sites like Microsoft Cloud or Carbonit can be used for individual file presentation without compromising your password to the storage site. Has anyone tried it?

There is no need to use the Albums feature. In the Quick Reply box, click "Go Advanced" at the bottom. In the reply window that comes up, click the paper clip icon. In the Attachments popup, you can upload the images and you aren't limited to 97 kb.
