Fabulous images! Interesting cultural highlights (in several ways) - now I see how they train those tomatoes up the crossed metal reinforcing bars. Neat!

Czech Switzerland and chateaux in the surrounding area. We spent five days in this area. We were not lucky with the weather (rainy) and we walked less (only about 35 km) and more visited castles (Děčín, Velké Březno, Benešov nad Ploučnicí, Nelahozeves). Just a few photos.

Nice pictures, as usual. Sorry you had much rain.
Thanks.

Last week we lived on a trip in a landscape called Czech Paradise. Beautiful countryside, full of historical monuments, just the weather we did not wish for. We went only 50 km in four days. Temperatures were almost as high as in Texas, in the shadows 32-34 °C.

Vladimír, no pictures of Karlův most?
In 1983 I visited Prague as an exchange student (few places in Czechoslovakia then). We were in Prague for couple of days only. Beautiful city, so many historical sites. Ice-cream was delicious. We were walking down the Václavské náměstí and enjoying the view and the ice-cream. I would love to visit it again some day.

Vladimir, I somehow missed your May photos! What a beautiful countryside you have to explore! And I am envious of the old castles - are all of them maintained as museums now, or are some still personal residences or organizational headquarters?

Quote:
we only went through Prague. We had 5 hours of time, so we went to the Picture Gallery of the Prague Castle and the Archbishop's Treasury and only glanced at St. Vitus Cathedral. Then I made the picture of Prague, we went down to Charles Bridge and around the Old Town Astronomical Clock (which you certainly remember) and through Wenceslas Square we quickly went to the main station. Then I did not make any photo. Prague is now a bit different city, more beautiful, all the sights are repaired. Only the tourists in the season are too much (mainly from China, Japan, Malaysia, etc.). At the station we arrived ten minutes before the train departs. I wish you to those lucky enough that you could still look to Prague. Vladimír PS.: For everyone else. If will be in Europe, take the time to visit Prague. It's still a safe city even at night, and when you watch your things, nothing can happen to you. You will not be disappointed. |

Vladimír, I completely forgot about the Astronomical Clock. I did see it. Thank you for reminding me.
And St. Vitus Cathedral entrance itself is impressive. We were mesmerized by it. It is as if you travel in time. I definitely like to see it again.
