Daniel Burson is a favorite of mine. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying it! How are your plants performing? Height, fruit set, disease issues?
Thanks for any information you can give me.

Was your DB later to set than other blacks you've grown? Mine is behind almost every other variety I'm growing.

Daniel Burson is a winner. My boy loves them. Has a permanent spot now. It wasn't early, I'd say middle to late. Since my season is insanely long I don't really think about them in those terms. |

Major pruning session, cullings, overdue maintenance.
Two Cowlick's (left) and SOTW (center)

Blacks seem to take their sweet time sometimes Faster ones have been ISPL, Carbon. Pierce's Pride, solid flavor, productive and compact. Purple Reign has been surprisingly good. Tasm Choc keeps impressing with its consistency. |

Fungus attack, countered with buzzcuts and cullings.
Travis Bickle got Organizized . Plants were left to their own devices for 2 weeks and fungus got a foothold. I'm fighting back. Everything doused w Neem + DE, and fed them via drench. Haircuts all around. Many were removed.
Impressive ones: Zarca, as advertised, high number of fruits on strong trusses and stems. Spreads. Cosm Volkov being its usual self, likes the tube. cosm volkov.jpg Looking forward to Tarasenko 6 tarasenko6.b.jpg Buzzcut on SOTW sotw.jpg Replacements replacements.jpg Patio Princess patio princess loaded.jpg Middle Relief, top row will be refreshed middle relief.jpg A Ginny's Purple, slow off the blocks, catching up. a ginnys purple.jpg Maglia Rosa, after a total harvest about 3 weeks ago, I placed it inside this large concrete container. Normally it houses tall sunflowers. Roots have taken hold, I suspect it'll be loading up soon. maglia rosa reloaded.jpg |

Maglia Rosa was a one-and-done determinate for me. Yield was good, but it didn't keep making new flowers and fruit. It will be interesting to see if it does for you.

I picked everything and it was yellowish and sad looking. Came back to this green beastie, which tells me it just might. I fed it today so there's hope. All that new green is from water only for 2 wks.

OR117 I was able to taste a couple of ripe-on-the-vine ones side by side with a very ripe Pit Viper. Practically like eating mangoes. My only wish is for OR117 to be more productive, other than that, two very enthusiastic thumbs up. |
