Barry's Crazy Cherry plants are bigger with more trusses, but Ildi's trusses are bigger.

mine were exactly the opposite! Barrys Crazy Cherry much bigger trusses. (not this season)

Number of flowers isn't the problem with this type of tomatoes, I find they waste too much energy making so many flowers that won't produce anything.
Hope you will continue the comparison all season to see who produced more .

Barrys Crazy Cherry produceds LOTS of delicious tomatoes last summer and it was VERY hot and dry. I had a very high number of fruit set but I shake the trusses every day, that helps a lot. And it was one of the last to die . Produced until frost.

Who sells seeds for Barrys Crazy Cherry? I got about 20lbs from an Ildi last year, too many fruit to count. I would really like to try BCC

Lots og good reviews and generous members. On the subject, my main cherry type is Riesentraube. I have tried S100, SS100, SG ..I liked their taste but I just can't put up w/ too many tiny tomatoes that crack/split. I even have stopped growing the so-called EARLY varieties w/small tomatoes. I need to learn how to cross breed tomatoes, I'm growing Reisetomate "traveler tomato" a really crazy looking tomato, all blooms are "megablooms".... Crossed with
Barry's Crazy Cherry a multi flora would make an interesting plant, although I don't know what the tomatoes would look or taste like. |
