2016 grown list review

[Lindalana]

Brief review on tomatoes grown this season. Unfortunately computer crashed and most pictures are gone.
Most of varieties are from Tania or have pics on Tania website

Alex Popovich Yugoslavian- your typical midseason tennis ball sized red. Full flavor, juicy moderately, productive, was reasonably compact.

Anzhela giant ukr- Det, typical wispy heart, takes little real estate, no taller than 3 ft. Decent sized. Grown in less than ideal condition and still decent production.

Altai Orange- Superb early midseason orange beef. Very productive, mid to large beef.

Aunt swarlo polish plum- Very very dry and huge.

Altaiskiy Urozhajnij- love this det red but this year taste was off. Not sure why. Will keep growing because I know how good it gets.

black early- Fairly early and fairly prolific. Keeper although if I have to choose, I will take IS over BE

bychiy myod- "Oxheart honey" or Bulls honey"? Compact det heart. Bit bushier than Anzhela but too can go into container. Keeper

Bear Creek- grown by many, has it all, taste, productivity, loved it.

Black Magic- keeper from last year. Grown in much shade this year so production is greatly reduced, still doing well.

Busybee- very short det on earlier side, golfball size. Bit on acidic. Excellent round red for canning and salads. Gives large firsdt show and then few more

Betalux- very productive golfball size, for containers, compact, did well even in shadier place.

Babushkina Radost- aww, Grandma happiness. Those that were lucky to have gardening grandma will associate this tomato. Yum, productuve, large beef

Bychyi Lob- Ox forehead- excellent find on early side, compact, had a bit of yellow shoulders but otherwise turns into red ones. Great taste and prolific.

Black Aisberg- suffered some loss and cuttings, green brown muddy red, juicy,

Black Giant- there was no giant but decent production of early midseason medium sized darks.

Gritsyk-- Fairly compact and fairly early great load of hearts. Excellent taste and goes for universal use.

Guido- big midseason red. Keeper from last year and def has a permanent place in my garden.

Blue sky- probably most loaded dark I ever seen. Had real problem with brunch support.

Biyskaya roza- keeper from previous years. Does really well in just about any weather, on early side, great taste and productive. Sets great in cool weather.

Chilikskie- Roma lovers delight. Very productive, stays on the counter forever.

Dusya Krasnaya- another great red plum. Earlier than most.

Debbie Blackburn- Gave me two flushes, first large beefs, excellent taste, and now smallish ones

For exhibition- WOW, golf ball sized red, as perfect as it could get, no blemishes, no cracking no matter what, juicy, great taste, loaded.

Galina Red- keeper from last years. Your typical midseason large/ medium sized red. Has it all.

Gloria- keeper from last year. Red heart with tip point, easy and prolific.

Ilyia Muromets orange- Compact, on early midseason, great taste, Productive even in the less than ideal conditions

kalvados- new dark. Productive but taste was off.

Kiwi- I like Malachite box more

Klara- Large everything and keeps going. This is great vigor and productivity plant.

Knyagina- loved this one, barrel or heart det, good for containers, early enough and great taste. Productive. About 20 huge plums/ hearts. Real estate saver.

Korshun Ogromnyi- Big Gnarly beefs, lovely taste. Keeper for sure. PL

Klein early- keeper from previous years, amazing taste for such early round red.

Koroleva- one of my favs from previous years, early and productive on sweet side

Marizol Korney- Lots of round darkish tomatoes, golf ball to tennis sized. Keeper, still goes strong.

mawlenove- short compact with medium sized funny raspberry colored. Real estate saver. Was not as productive as I thought would be.

Mama Alla- fav from previous years. Compact productive heart on early side. Love it.

Mom's heart- big pink heart midseason/ late. Not too productive but is keeper

Mikhalych- Keeper from previous years. What you want to have in your medium/big red beef

Mayo delight- very vigorous plant. Lots of large hearts. Give it space. Tasty. Midseason for me.

Noire Petule- great find of this year. VERY brunching, but shorter, lots of excellent dark fruit.

Noire charbonneus- My best oof all Noire series. Just outstanding results year after year.

Pleine de Chair- Large plant, on later side. Great taste.

Pale perfect purple- it really pink, compact, reasonably early, great taste

Petrusha ogorodnik- your typical paste, great producer, container.

phenomenal- grown in troo shady spot, did not do well

Queen Elizabeth- Compact large heart/beef? Productive, great taste.

Rozovye Gryozy- barrel/ heart/ large roma, wispy heart foliage. Excellent for cooking

Raspberry Supreme- Oh my, beat my Raspberry Giant by miles. Uber productive, early and tasty.

Russian queen- keeper from last years. Has looks, uber productivy and set well under any conditions. Grown nearly without cover since end of April here. Great for salads and salsa

Siberskiy Velikan Rozovyi- Large pin on early side. Sweetish flavor. Lovely taste for such an early tomato

Sakharnyi Bizon- Taste great, wispy plant, at about 3 ft. Always gave me palpitations together with Yaponets as they looked like on death row

Stephania pink- huge plant with large raspberry colored beefs. Tasty, close to late side

Sereginy- keeper from last years. Midseason, good old fashioned good taste

Shirley S- Large PL plant with large sweet beefs

Terhune- same as above. Keeper even if not as productive as I would like

Tsarskiy lubimets- Keeper from last years. Has it all. Mouthwatering looking huge beefs

Tsar kolokol- heart on earlier side. Very productive and tasty, should be much more grown

Turmalin- starts with pearly white color and turn into pink. Det? Early and productive. Taste could be better.

Serbian oxheart- Smaller sized hearts but oh so many! Vigorous and keeps going. Keeper from last years. This heart is a must.

Dagestanskiy- same but hearts a re bigger. Keeper from before

Yaponets- yearly large hearts, very compact, wispy but looks like about to die any minute all the time

Vjerino- huge hearts and very tasty. Still keeps going.

Yablochnyi Lipetskiy- my most expected one. Taste is out there, just what I want. First fruit was early, then keeps going. Going to see if my own seeds will do better productivity wise.

Zolushka- floppy but short, early round red. Old variety USSR, calls Cinderella. Sweetish flavor. Keeper.

1884 purple- keeper from last years.

Kalinka- those 3 were all on early side, dets. I think I lik Pravda most for taste but Sabrina kills with production. Sabrina was barely about 1 foot and covered in golfball sized reds, keeper for everything.
Pravda- keeper from last year. small cherry sladette pointed tip red.

Eugenia- huge plant with late strawberry like hearts. Breeder Doochov from Ukraine. Taste is fantastic. Probably people that grow Donskoi well would love this one.

Pappy Kerns - midseason heart, great taste, keeper. Wispy. Probably would be good for containers as well.
GGWT - excellent keeper. Probably one of the best tomatoes of this season.
Detsikas- great taste this year- not sure why but any tomatoes on sweet side were blandish and tomatoes with some acidity were just superb...

Our taste buds are similar, so some of those you recommend will be grown in my garden.

After reading your review, I'm excited to have 8 plants of Noire Charb at the 3rd-4th leaf.

Had some last Yaponskiy Krab, repeat from last year. This is your Brandywine taste. Very juicy, picture perfect fruits, firm midseason, productive. For more dry variety Petrusha Ogorodnik still cooking. Had about 8 of those on 2 ft plant

love Biyskaya Roza. Lovely tomato and lovely taste, mild and sweet. It picked up when the temps got cooler. Have to say, don't know most of the tomatoes on your list.

Biyskaya Rosa is a winner for sure, yes, it is picked up production here as well as it getting cold. Might have another half a dozen before it gets totally chilled. New heart- Yaponets /Japanese man/ does the same- cool weather heart.
Just realized that I did not get any seeds from Marizol Korney, thankfully it still pumping albeit smaller ones. Great taste.
