Suggested Application Rates:

It worked very well when I used it 2 years ago. I didn't use nearly that much per plant, Robert. In fact I didn't use it after the initial planting, but mid season it was obvious it needed a boost. I gave it a liquid shot then.

Still $3 at my store. The grass seed was marked down again, but not garden fertilizers. I should be happy with half off but I have enough odds and ends stockpiled to wait it out. No worse than ttf imho.

I started a search, and of course the first site is Amazon selling it and Lowes.com

Box Stores: Home Depot and Walmart have it in stock at local stores during growing season. There are probably more that don't advertise it online.

Love that stuff, too! At full price it gets expensive ($5 per jug at HD and Lowe's). I used it in 2015 at about a quarter of the recommended amount, applied every three weeks, and my plants were fantastically productive. This year, I used Mater Magic only when planting and right after blossoms appeared, and a liquid (Dr. Earth) for two other feedings. This year's plants did o.k. despite high temps in July that caused blossom drop, but I'm definitely going back to just Mater Magic in 2017 -- I recently found a bunch on clearance at $2 each. Wish it had been $1! Note that it seems to work better in-ground than in containers.

I saw this thread a few days ago and from the results people have had I checked today at Wally World and saw it for 50 cents so I bought all 13. After reading the instructions it seems like 1 bottle will only feed a few plants all season. It wouldn't be cost effective for me to use it on all the plants I grow at full price but for .50 I'll see how it does compared to my normal fertilizers.

I think I got there at the right time, they were marking down the marked down items again. This was first marked down to 2.50. So check the stores again and it may be cheaper.

Dang. I saw these for about $3, then they were gone. Christmas crap has already taken over our garden center as of about 2 weeks ago.

They were packing the fertilizers up when I checked today. The aisle was chock full. The department manager said they were not allowed to mark down the fertilizers further as some have a use by date of 2020.

Any incremental revenue they can make next season is more than offset by paying employees to repack the unsold merchandise and find storage space for it. I like that they are trying to carry a better line but I am concerned that it will not be stored properly.
