Got started - finally!
Well, the head scratching is over and the 2017 selections have been started. After receiving all those wonderful varieties in the MMMM I finally decided to start with the oldest seed and progress from there. Along with some favorite, good performers from last year - I added 15 new varieties, most with 2012/2013 dates on the packs. Following is what I wound up with.
My saved seed from last year: Girl Girl's Weird Thing Not Purple Strawberry Syranka Delicious Strawberry Margarita Recieved in MMMM Black from Tula Morrtgage Lifter Donskoi Stump of the World Copper River Black Krim Dr Dester Goose Creek Purple Dog Creek 1884 Cherokee Purple Rebel Yell Big Zac Amy's Sugar Gem Sun Sugar. After last year's mouse massacre of the first seed planting, I decided to be proactive this year and set out traps around the seed tray perimeter first thing. As of this morning it's Me 1 / Mouse 0. With covers on the trays until germination I'm not to worried, as it was after germination and cover removal that the seeds were dug up and the new plants nipped off at the base. Maybe the little buggers will get the idea before then, this year. |

That's a very nice list that you have chosen. If the mice don't win this year, you will have a hard time to be picking out your favorite.
By the way, Dr. Dester is named "Dester" with no DR in the front.

I'll make that correction - I was going by the way it was listed on the seed packet. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have to be careful my wants don't exceed available space. I've got to leave room for all those ornamental peppers too LOL.
