You mean a set of Greenlee punches? Not cheap but if you need them they're worth their weight in gold-pressed latinum. I had a couple from HF and they were fine in alum and thin mild steel (electronic and computer cases). Didn't use them often, though, so can't tell about lifespan. They certainly didn't seem stressed. Will you be using on wall boxes? Those are thicker.

I just got back from Austin with my knockout set for $24.99.
I checked the hardness and it is as hard as a rock.
Took all of an hour and a half to get there and back plus find the darn thing.
Took a coons age to find it and I cant remember where I found it in the store.
Plus I picked up another set of center drills.
While I was there I saw they had the tubing rollers again and will get one of them next month.
I really need and want that tubing roller.
This is a tubing roller you use it to bend tubing and pipe in large radius's.
With my lathe I can make any roller I want including square or flat.

This is a knock out set.
You use it to make big holes in sheet metal.
The bolt acts as a press and the dies cut the hole.

Because if lighting hits our panels and blows them up we dont have to pay for it or devices.
No suppressor we pay for it.
Cheap insurance.

When I left my job on the coast was the last time I used a knock out set.
Everyone else was using hole saws and the uni-bits.
I hate Uni-bits they are over priced and if one of the cutting edges is chipped it is useless past that point.
They are also known as a step drill and them alone are as high as a cats back for no reason.
My boss was flabbergasted at the price of the knock out set.

These guys dont know how to do anything, yesterday one of them was complaining about the side of the building being so hard you couldn't drill through it.
What the hell are you talking about let me see the bit.
The darn thing was a dull as could be and blue due to the friction.
Can you tell a sharp bit from a dull one.
It was the squirrel dog and he got mad and said of course I can.
Really.
The siding is aluminum.
Here take this bit it is doesn't cut stop drilling.

I've been using knockout sets for at least 40 years. Hard to imagine doing electrical work without a set.

One of those irksome things to me is when someone uses a "homeowner" drill or drill bit on a job. It takes longer and the results are unpredictable. I have a black and decker industrial drill, industrial jig saw, and industrial hammer drill so I don't have to mess around with tools that can't do the job. I have 3 sets of high quality drill bits. If one gets dull, I pull out another until the dull bit can either be sharpened or replaced.

The confounded step drills/uni-bits have taken their place to my dismay.
They leave a crappy looking hole which I find unprofessional.

The other day I co-worker called me wanting the company credit card so he could go buy more drill bits.

Then my boss shows up and sees my bench grinder in the back of the truck and asks about it.
I tell him I use it to sharpen drill bits instead of driving out of my way and wasting time to get the company credit card to buy more drill bits.
