Brandywine OTV harvest 7 22 07

Not many of them, but they're of substantial size! Check out
the dollar bill in the lower left corner. These puppies are big!

Also picked another two baskets containing about the same
volume of fruit as the OTVs. Going to take them to work
tomorrow to pass around.

Also a smaller number of Brandywine too.

Had two pots going on the stove most of the day to cook them down.

I'm drowning in tomato sauce! But what a way to go.

I wonder why they are so ribbed looking. That's not what I've gotten and I've grown OTV Brandywine a lot. The shoulders have been quite smooth. It looks more like Cuostralee to me than it does OTV.

What was the foliage as in RL or PL?

Could it have been something environmental or was it perhaps your seed source?

What was the seed source for what you show? Just curious.

Sure is a different-looking OTV to mine last year.
I will add: you deserve the drooler award on this site.

Mine had a little bit of ribbing last year but nothing like those...

Well, it wouldn't be the first plant I've bought (don't do the
seed thing) that was mismarked. Got to agree that it sure
doesn't look like the pictures in Carolyn's book! Or korney's
picture either.

And the plant is PL and about the same size as the rest of
my plants. Carolyn's book says OTV is red with orange shoulders.
Don't see that either. They're fairly consistant in color, reddish
with an orange tinge to them, no shoulder difference.

This was my first time for OTV, so I only had the tag to go by.

But then it is also a lot more ribbed then the Cuostralee in
the book too.

As Carolyn suggests, it could be environmental. My Lemon
Boy's were very ribbed from what I've grown in the past too.

We'll see what happens next weekend. There's quite a few
Mortgage Lifters out there right now and Radiator Charlie too!
