Grandma Oliver's Chocolate at Muddy Bucket Farm

I have three plants and all are producing large beefsteaks like these which came from two plants. Actually, the harvest from all three is now at 13 of these giant, delicious tomatoes. The average weight here is 17.3 oz's each.

I found the taste of this one to be in the top 3 best for my taste buds. The flavor is unique and different. Complex/full range, but amazingly sweet and mild/not tart. My wife, Judy, has a huge sensitivity to the acidity in tomatoes (or anything else, for that matter). She has limited her consumption of raw tomatoes to only once a week for decades. Her comment about this one was (I'm paraphrasing here) that it was delicious and she could eat this one 3 or 4 times a week.

Now, guess what tomato is on my "grow every season" list "or else". Yeah, she's a strong woman and I wouldn't have it any other way.

They look absolutely delicious Ted, drooling right now as I haven't had a tomato in 10 days and counting. Spent a very sad day today yanking out the last of my plants

However tomorrow I will plant some cuttings in Earthboxes, my first attempt at growing so late in the year.
Now Grandma Oliver's Chocolate is on my wish list for next summer. Wow they are gorgeous.

Grandma Oliver’s is growing here at my cottage, fairly far north, and she has 6 foot arms in every direction. I am expecting her to be the last one producing. Very nice tomato. I culled out about half of the rest of the tomato plants today, as had no hope of ripening any more tomatoes.
