You need some weight lifting equipment to balance out the rock yard.

No really I cant think of better way to use a back yard.

I just got to work for a 3 week hitch.. Second one in a row but the 3 weeks off was really really nice and I was able to get some work done.
. My wife is in charge of my seedlings survival until I get home. I will call her if we have a frost and they will go in the covered screened in porch on cold nights but they are done being babied. First week of March, forecast in mind I want to get them in the ground. (I have 4 LGS seedlings still under lights) The purple doesn't seem to be much of a problem. The stems are nice stout and sturdy. I gave them a light dose of seaweed and a quarter dose of medina hasta gro 6-12-6 before I left and put them outdoors permanently barring sub 40 temps.

I am not done with the new beds. I plan on either mulch or decomposed granite in the walkways. I will probably go with the granite. I hauled in a tone and a half of limestone chop block and it will probably take 3 yards of material to do the pathways. I basically killed and tilled the entire area and raked the pathways into the beds. These new beds will be primarily a mixed garden with edibles snuck in as part of a less intensive bio-diverse garden. admittedly I need to add to this shallow clay crappy soil to get it to where I need it.

The other straight edged beds are for the more intensive growing (this springs tomatoes). I have to make the most of what space I haved and my wife has her pet plants too.
