Inconspicuous Staking
Hello everybody, getting close to that time of year again. Digging through the clutter and trying to get organized. I am phasing out the mix and match stakes and cages this year, and going with a less conspicuous modular system. The growing ocean of eight foot stakes holding up six inch plants was getting pretty unsightly every spring. We live on a corner lot, and all this is visible from the street, so I needed something that was, well... invisible. What I came up with remains concealed within the foliage, and is practically indiscernible from the street.
The boss says the wooden stakes have to go - say they stand out like a sore thumb. For the new, I cut the initial stakes (½ inch EMT) just to size, allowing for driving them into the ground, and added a little spray of camouflage paint. Extensions are added as needed. George |
