Default What are these markings? (pic)

Hope you can see in the picture - there are lots of little lines ringing the stem, and they can also be on other parts of the fruit. Somehow I think this is related to the weather getting colder - I don't think I noticed this in the summer. I also notice that when I get a tomato with all these little parallel marks, the tomato is a little soft in those places and overall doesn't taste as good. Does anyone have any idea what they are?
