Default Volunteer Pears

Yeah, so this fall I took the liberty of gathering a bunch of fallen pears from an abandoned mini-orchard owned by an acquaintance of mine. I ate a few. They were nothing special, and most of them were turned over into my garden soil.

As I expected there are quite a few volunteers that have popped up. I have one growing in a little cup and plan on planting it when it is a little bigger.

I know they don't always produce true to the parent, and in this case, I would hope they don't. Anyone ever grow pears trees from seed, or would anyone care to comment?
