Muddy Bucket - 31 July - Some goodies
Been trying to catch up on the harvest and seed saving. I'm a bit overwhelmed right now with some domestic and health issues. However, the garden doesn't want to hear me complain, so it gave up a few goodies today.
It was time to do a really good harvest of some of the bell peppers. The two pictues below are of the 51 peppers I brought up. The ones in the bag are going to my brother. The ones on the stove are going to be stuffed and frozen. Some will be sliced and frozen for stir-fries this winter. I've still got a bunch down in the garden finishing their ripening. The white tub holds a few of the ones I picked for seed only. As I type this, I still have about 3 bushels of tomatoes down there to harvest for juice and table. After a rough start, the garden fairy has blessed us with plenty. Those cukes and some others just like them are going to be "Bread & Butter" pickles. Most of these have just come up to the house and haven't even been washed yet.
