Comparison of plants
Just wanted to show the difference in the same variety of plants that were transplanted at the same time, (April 14th), and in two different size containers. They are both beefsteak and you can see the difference. Then I show another variety, (Porterhouse), which seems to grow stronger yet. Then the Super Sweet 100's which are the tallest but the stems don't grow as thick as the others. Sorry I did not take better pics but I did not have a lot of time to pose them.
first pic: A side by side of the stems of the 2 Beefsteak, the one on the left in the larger container is thicker and taller by a couple at least 3". second pic: the height side by side of the Beefsteaks. (try to focus on the plants in front, there are other plants behind them) third pic: A Porter House beside the Beefsteaks, stronger yet. fourth pic: The three Super Sweet 100's, taller than anything else, but not as thick as the Beefsteak and Porter House, but healthy looking. The tallest of these is about 22 inches. I also grew some Early Girls which also are healthy looking and the stems on these also not as thick as the BS and PH. |
