So what probably happened to give you the three sprouts,which is what I think you are referring to means that several seeds were stuck together. Not a mutant.

And it happens a lot that when saving seeds they can get stuck together whatever process one uses, and you can just take your thumb and first finger and go back and forth a bit to loosen up those seeds.

I just sent out lots of seeds to my seed producers and although all of them are very experienced, but still I reminded them about stuck together seeds that had been sent to me,couldn't help myself since some of the seeds sent to me had enough seeds,barely,for only one person and I had no time to check for stuck together seeds..
