Green Mountain Multiplier Onion
Hello everybody, a quick question about multiplier onions.
I managed to get my hands on some of Kelly Winterton's Green Mountain Onion seeds this year. I got them late, and sowed them around May 20th. Since they were already two years old, I figured that it would be safer to start them this season rather than wait until next spring. Right now the seedlings are about two and a half inches high, and I'm planning on saving the bulbs that grow over the summer to plant next year. I guess what my question is, is will these immature bulbs grow to maturity at next planting and produce more 'bulblets'? Or should I forget about it and try to buy seeds earlier for next year? |
