Default How long from seed to fruit

I have had one disaster after another this year with starting from seed.
First we arrived to find the house burgled - even the front door stolen.
Sprouted some, transferred them to grow. Left them out and we had a scorching day. I couldn't get back so they boiled.
Have no facilities in our second house - this is not as grand as it sounds, the first house is three rooms, the second is just a couple of rooms.
Grew some in the ground - wild fred was fine but all Andrey's were killed by pests - all but three.

Can I start again and get fruit for seed by 15th October?
